The Alternative Energy Promotion Center (AEPC) in collaboration with the Nepal Renewable Energy Programme (NREP) organized a half day “Academic Dialogue” on commercializing the research related to energy sector – Energy Product to Business” on 7th June 2023. The main objectives of the academic dialogue were to disseminate the approach of Sustainable Energy Challenge Fund (SECF) and to discuss how academia can play a role to convert academic research ideas into businesses. Twenty-six participants (23 male and 3 female) from the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), Tribhuvan University (TU), Kathmandu University (KU) and other academic and research institutions attended the programme. The Academic Dialogue was organized at an opportune time when SECF is inviting submission of concept notes on business ideas for SECF support. All the participants agreed to look for ways to utilize the VGF facility of SECF for transforming innovative distributed renewable energy (DRE) projects into viable businesses.
